Breast Cancer Ireland – Breast Health Education and Awareness Programme

The aim of the Breast Health Education and Awareness presentation is to encourage women to become breast aware by doing a regular breast self-examination and knowing what changes may indicate a problem.

The talk consists of a short PowerPoint presentation giving information on Breast Cancer Ireland and outlines the present statistics, risks and warning signs of breast cancer. This is followed by a demonstration on how to do a breast self-examination using a n=medically induced mannequin which has the signs of breast cancer. Each participant will also get an opportunity to examine the model.

• Early diagnosis is the key to more positive outcomes in breast cancer
• The survival rate for breast cancer in Ireland is now 85%
